Ugly Day on Wall Street
New York - Fear that the global banking crisis is worsening sent financial stocks plunging
Tuesday. Bank of America
fell 28 percent, Citigroup lost 20 percent, PNC Financial fell 41 percent,
J.P. Morgan fell 20.8 percent, and Wells Fargo & Co's shares tumbled 23.8
percent.
The Dow Jones Industrials Average was down 322 points, closing to
7949.
