Utter disregard for the
truth
Washington - Former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia Charles W. Freeman (photo) has cast doubt whether Israel can continue to survive in the Middle East.
He said: "I don't see how Israel can continue to survive in the long term as a state in the Middle East if it is not prepared to deal with respect and consideration with its Arab neighbors specially the
Palestinians".
In mid March, Freeman turned down an offer to be the chairman of US 'National Informatics Centre'
and accused the Israeli lobby of being behind his withdrawal. He had come under fire of the Israel Lobby
for stating: "I "believe Israel's policies are destructive to American interests"
and became disappointed when the President Barack Obama refused to put its weight behind him over the offered
position. Freeman said: "The tactics of the Israel Lobby plumb the depths of dishonor and indecency and include character
assassination, selective misquotation, the willful distortion of the
record, the fabrication of falsehoods, and an utter disregard for the
truth".
