Network laundered tens of millions of dollars through charities controlled by rabbis

New York - Issac Rosenbaum (photo), a Brooklynite who works in real estate has been charged with trafficking in human kidneys. Rosenbaum, several rabbis and the mayors of three New Jersey cities were among the 44 people arrested Thursday in a sweeping corruption investigation that began as a probe into an international money laundering ring. FBI and IRS agents removed several boxes from the ' Deal Yeshiva', a school that educates the children of Sephardic Jews. The money laundering network operated between Brooklyn, Deal, N.J. and Israel. The rabbis were charged with offenses ranging from the trafficking of kidneys from Israeli donors to laundering proceeds from selling fake Gucci and Prada bags. The network is alleged to have laundered tens of millions of dollars through charities controlled by rabbis in New York and New Jersey.

An undercover witness approached Rosenbaum, telling him the witness's uncle urgently needed a kidney transplant. Rosenbaum then laid out a scheme by which he would procure a kidney from Israel, and explained how they would make it seem that the donor had a prior relationship with the witnesses' uncle, as required. Rosenbaum said he'd been in the kidney-trafficking game for ten years.
