Simon
Sheppard found guilty
Simon Sheppard, publisher and operator of the 'Heretical Press' website attracting 4,000 visitors a
day, was found guilty by a jury at Leeds Crown Court on Friday. He had put articles on the internet that could
- according to prosecutor Jonathan Sandiford - stir up 'race hate'. Since
2005, Sheppard had published on his website antijewish cartoons by the American cartoonist Robert Crumb,
and articles claiming that accounts of the Holocaust were exaggerated. Sheppard
is next due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on July 28.
On the
question: 'Are you a Nazi?', Sheppard answered: "No. Hitler was Austrian, and hence had no right to lead Germany. But Hitler's writing about
'The Big Lie' certainly seems a good appraisal." - Sheppard called Churchill a
drunkard, in hock to the Jews and instigator of the terror bombing of
civilians, and Roosevelt a non-entity and cripple with a chip on his
shoulder, also completely in the Jews' pocket. According to Sheppard, Stalin was a malformed Georgian
psychopath. Sheppard said: "Of the four dominant men in that insane period called World War II, Hitler was definitely the best of the
bunch."
