In 1979 M. began dedicating himself to the discipline of historical revisionistic research and writing. In Europe, he has been associated with the "Annales d'Histoire Revisionniste", while in America, M. has been a member of the Editorial Advisory Committee and a published contributor to the 'Journal of Historical Review'. He is the author of numerous books and monographs, several of his writings have been published in English translations.

In 1985 Mattogno published the book 'The Myth of the Extermination of the Jews' and in the same year the booklet 'The Gerstein Report - Anatomy of a Fraud'. Both publications are devoted to disputing the genocide in the Nazi concentration camps. So far, M. has not yet been legally censured for any of these activities.
