British Jews welcome journalists joining Israeli boycott A Jewish campaign group Wednesday welcomed the decision by Britain's National Union of Journalists (NUJ) to join the international boycott of Israeli goods, saying it was a "courageous" move. "Given Israel's contempt for international law, with the complicity of the US and UK governments, pressure has to be increased by civil society if justice is to be achieved," Jews for Boycotting Israel Goods (JBIG) said. "A boycott of Israeli goods is a legitimate form of grassroots action and is particularly appropriate as Israel is destroying the Palestinian economy. Such a boycott has been called for by Israeli peace organizations," the British-based campaign group said. The NUJ, representing some 35,000 journalists in the UK, voted to join the international boycott of Israeli goods at its annual conference earlier this month. In a letter to the Guardian newspaper Wednesday, JBIG said that it was as a result of its illegal occupation, Israel is able to flood the Palestinian market with its products, while preventing Palestinian farmers from growing and trading their own. "We believe Israel's actions betray Jewish ethical traditions - the cutting down of olive and fruit trees is prohibited by Jewish law," the letter said. It also warned that the "continuing occupation and exploitation of Palestinian land is a major obstacle to peace for Israelis and Arabs alike which has global implications for world peace." JBIG was set up by Jewish residents in Britain as an outcome of the deep frustration that Jewish peace activists were said to feel towards the inaction displayed by the Jewish community with regard to Israel's repressive occupation of Palestinian land.

New voice for Holocaust survivors There are 350,000 survivors of the Holocaust alive today in the USA. A film project called "The Triumphs of the Holocaust” intends to present the faces and voices of those that were able to overcome the ghettos and the concentration camps and to explain, in an anecdotally fashion, their particular experience. Filming has now begun. Holocaust survivors are invited to call (USA) 516-739-3636 to schedule an appointment. The film will premier in December of 2007. Already in 1994, Steven Spielberg established the "Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation", a non-profit organisation whose charter was to record on video the testimonies of 50,000 Holocaust survivors for posterity.

300 Millionen Dollar für Naziopfer Unter dem Vorsitz des ehemaligen US-Außenministers Lawrence Eagleburger war 1998 unter dem Druck von mehreren Sammelklagen gegen europäische Versicherungsanstalten eine Kommission gegründet worden. Insgesamt bearbeitete die Kommission 92 000 Gesuche und schüttete an 48 000 Gesuchsteller 300 Millionen Dollar aus. Bei der Mehrheit der Fälle handelte es sich um «humanitäre» Zahlungen, bei denen es lediglich anekdotische Hinweise auf eine Versicherungspolice gab. Zudem stand die Kommission auch für Ansprüche an Versicherungs- Gesellschaften in Osteuropa gerade, die nach 1948 nationalisiert worden waren. Ob mit dem jetzigen Abschluss der Kommissionsarbeiten das Thema wirklich erledigt ist, wird sich zeigen. Im US-Repräsentantenhaus liegt ein Antrag zur Schaffung neuer Klagewege vor. Die Urheber des Vorstoßes argumentieren, die 300 Millionen Dollar seien ungenügend. Sie schätzen die von den europäischen Versicherern geschuldeten Beträge auf bis 200 Milliarden Dollar.

Klimakatastrophe Der Begriff Klimakatastrophe wird seit einiger Zeit dazu benutzt, politische und wirtschaftliche Interessen durchzusetzen. Manche Politiker planen, eine Welt-Klimaschutzbehörde zu installieren, die für den Klimaschutz zuständig ist. Sie solle weltweit die Emissionsrechte für CO2 verteilen. Diese Behörde könnte dann die ganze Welt beherrschen. Finanzgruppen beabsichtigen, daraus ein ganz großes Geschäft zu machen. Schon jetzt gibt es den Emissionsrechtehandel, bei dem jeder teilnehmende Staat handelbare Emissionszertifikate an die betroffenen Betriebe aus, die zum Ausstoß einer bestimmten Menge eines Schadstoffs (z. B. eine Tonne CO2) berechtigen. Im Laufe der Zeit gibt der Staat immer weniger neue Zertifikate aus, um die erzeugten Schadstoffmengen kontinuierlich zu verringern. Die Zertifikate werden daher knapper, können aber zwischen den Betrieben frei gehandelt werden. Der Preis wird dabei marktwirtschaftlich durch Angebot und Nachfrage bestimmt. Mit dieser Methode können die Kosten der Energieerzeugung beliebig durch die Staaten und die Wirtschaft gesteuert und dem Verbraucher immer höhere Abgaben auferlegt werden. Seit 150 Jahren steigt die Temperatur auf der Erde, mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit auf Grund erhöhter Sonnenfleckenaktivitäten in der Sonne. Damit steigt allmählich die Temperatur der Ozeane, die dadurch CO2 abgeben. Bisher war es üblich gewesen, solche Warmzeiten in der historischen Vergangenheit als “Klimaoptimum” zu bezeichnen, z.B. die Warmzeiten im Bronzezeitalter oder im Mittelalter, als die Wikinger um 1000 n. Chr. Grönland besiedelten, in Norwegen Wein angebaut wurde und es auch in Deutschland einige Grade wärmer war. Im Laufe der Erdgeschichte hat es unzählige solcher Klimaveränderungen gegeben, die eine Reihe von unterschiedlich wirksamen Ursachen gehabt haben können. Keine Klimaveränderung lässt sich wissenschaftlich auf den Einfluss von CO2 zurückführen, und noch viel weniger auf den durch den Menschen verursachten CO2-Ausstoß. Trotzdem versuchen interessierte Kreise, uns weiszumachen, die Temperaturerhöhung der letzten Jahre sei in erster Linie auf das durch die industrielle Produktion erzeugte CO2 verursacht. Schaurige Horrorfilme von meerüberfluteten Städten sollen dem einfachsten Bürger klar machen, was uns bevorsteht, wenn die Industrie weiter Kohlendioxid freisetzt. Dies alles ist reine Phantasie. Richtig
ist, dass die Vorräte an Erdöl, Erdgas und Kohle begrenzt sind und eines
Tages ersetzt werden müssen. Wind- und Sonnenenergie können aber beim derzeitigen Entwicklungsstand
die Energieversorgung der Industriestaaten

US-Arroganz und EU-Dilemma Die USA versuchen, ihre Auffassung von Recht und Gesetz auch in anderen Teilen der Welt durchzusetzen. Hierzu gehört die Androhung von Sanktionen gegen den österreichischen Mineralöl-, Erdgas- und Chemiekonzern OMV, weil dieser mit dem Iran Geschäfte macht. Weiter das drohende Verbot für EU-Banken, Geschäfte in den USA oder auch nur in Dollar zu tätigen, falls sie ihre Iran-Geschäfte nicht aufgeben. Dabei wird auf den "Helms-Burton Act" verwiesen, der die Handelssanktionen gegen Kuba noch einmal verstärkte. Oder auf den "Iran Sanctions Act" von 1996, der vorsieht, dass der US-Präsident Sanktionen gegen Unternehmen aus Drittstaaten verhängen kann, wenn sie mit dem Iran Geschäfte machen. Auf der anderen Seite ist das Recht dieser Drittstaaten den USA kaum etwas wert: Microsoft hält in einem Kartellverfahren die EU-Kommission mit Unterstützung der US-Regierung schon so lange hin, dass die Wettbewerbskommissarin Neelie Kroes meint, in 50 Jahren EU hätte es noch nie ein Unternehmen gegeben, das sich so wie Microsoft schlicht geweigert hätte, EU-Recht und Urteile anzuerkennen. Für die USA ist Recht eine strategische Waffe, die eingesetzt wird, um die US-Interessen zu verteidigen. Die Dominanz der US-Wirtschaft erleichtert das, denn kaum ein größeres Unternehmen kann es sich leisten, auf irgendeine schwarze US-Liste zu kommen.

eine Wanderausstellung über Henryk Mandelbaum, Mitglied des Sonderkommandos in Auschwitz mit dem Ausstellungstitel "Nur die Sterne waren wie
gestern" eingerichtet. Walter Egon Glöckel hat nachgewiesen ( Man erinnert sich in diesem Zusammenhang, dass die im "Süddeutschen Verlag" erscheinende "Süddeutsche Zeitung" im Jahr 1986 eine große Pressekampagne gegen den Pensionär John Demjanuk entfacht hatte. Der aus der Ukraine stammende Demjanuk sollte hunderttausende Juden in Treblinka ermordet haben. Demjanuk wurde nach Israel ausgeliefert, wo er vor Gericht kam. Demjanuk, genannt “Iwan der Schreckliche”, wurde zum Tode verurteilt. Als Demjanuks Anwalt der Fälschung von Dokumenten auf die Spur kam, stürzte er aus dem Fenster seines Hotelzimmers. Trotzdem wurde der Prozess neu aufgerollt und Demjanuk unter dem Druck der Öffentlichkeit freigesprochen. Der Kommentar der "Süddeutschen Zeitung" hierzu: "Die Demjanuk zu Last gelegten Untaten konnten diesem nicht mehr nachgewiesen werden". Noch nie wurde mit vier Buchstaben hinterhältiger die Wahrheit verfälscht als von den Geschäftemachern der "Süddeutschen Zeitung".

Holocaust survivors Nearly one third of the estimated 260,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel are now living in poverty. A television documentary called "The Morals of Restitution" featured a Holocaust survivor who said she returned to Germany in her old age, because she would receive better treatment there. Some survivors in Israel get a monthly payment of about $600 from the German government. Others receive roughly $350 through the Israeli Finance Ministry. Others, who emigrated to Israel after 1953, receive nothing more than the national retirement
allowance. Those newer immigrants, who make up roughly 70 percent of Holocaust survivors living in Israel, do not receive any special dispensation, according to a report delivered at the Knesset on Sunday.
All this comes at a time when the last generation of Holocaust survivors is entering their final years. Nearly 20 percent of the survivors in Israel are older than 86 and 70 percent are older than 76, according to government statistics released this
week.

Wöbbelin concentration camp in northern Germany in May 1945. Alex Moskovic was 13
in 1944, when a man in blue, standing on a train platform in Auschwitz-Birkenau, told him he was 16 and put him in line with older
Jews. When the Soviet Army neared, the camp was evacuated, and the prisoners were shipped to a new camp, Dachau.

Who Rules America? THERE IS NO GREATER POWER in the world today than that wielded by the manipulators of public opinion in America. No king or pope of old, no conquering general or high priest ever disposed of a power even remotely approaching that of the few dozen men who control America's mass media of news and entertainment. The mass media form for us our image of the world and then tell us what to think about that image. Essentially everything we know - or think we know - about events outside our own neighborhood or circle of acquaintances comes to us via our daily newspaper, our weekly news magazine, our radio, or our television. It is not just the heavy-handed suppression of certain news stories from our newspapers or the blatant propagandizing of history-distorting TV "docudramas" that characterizes the opinion-manipulating techniques of the media masters. They exercise both subtlety and thoroughness in their management of the news and the entertainment that they present to us. For example, the way in which the news is covered: which items are emphasized and which are played down; the reporter's choice of words, tone of voice, and facial expressions; the wording of headlines; the choice of illustrations—all of these things subliminally and yet profoundly affect the way in which we interpret what we see or hear. On top of this, of course, the columnists and editors remove any remaining doubt from our minds as to just what we are to think about it all. Employing carefully developed psychological techniques, they guide our thought and opinion so that we can be in tune with the "in" crowd, the "beautiful people," the "smart money." They let us know exactly what our attitudes should be toward various types of people and behavior by placing those people or that behavior in the context of a TV drama or situation comedy and having the other TV characters react in the Politically Correct way. For example, a racially mixed couple will be respected, liked, and socially sought after by other characters, as will a "take charge" Black scholar or businessman, or a sensitive and talented homosexual. The average American, of whose daily life TV-watching takes such an unhealthy portion, distinguishes between these fictional situations and reality only with difficulty, if at all. He responds to the televised actions, statements, and attitudes of TV actors much as he does to his own peers in real life. For all too many Americans the real world has been replaced by the false reality of the TV environment, and it is to this false reality that his urge to conform responds. Thus, when a TV scriptwriter expresses approval of some ideas and actions through the TV characters for whom he is writing, and disapproval of others, he exerts a powerful pressure on millions of viewers toward conformity with his own views. And as it is with TV entertainment, so it is also with the news, whether televised or printed. The insidious thing about this form of thought control is that even when we realize that entertainment or news is biased, the media masters still are able to manipulate most of us. This is because they not only slant what they present, but also they establish tacit boundaries and ground rules for the permissible spectrum of opinion. As an example, consider the media treatment of Middle East news. Some editors or commentators are pro-Israel in their every utterance, while others seem nearly neutral. No one, however, dares suggest that the U.S. government is backing the wrong side in the Arab-Jewish conflict, or that 9-11 was a result of that support. Control of the opinion-molding media is nearly monolithic. All of the controlled media - television, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, motion pictures - speak with a single voice, each reinforcing the other. Despite the appearance of variety, there is no real dissent, no alternative source of facts or ideas accessible to the great mass of people that might allow them to form opinions at odds with those of the media masters. Who are these all-powerful masters of the media? As we shall see, to a very large extent they are Jews. Continuing government deregulation of the telecommunications industry has resulted, not in the touted increase of competition, but rather in an accelerating wave of corporate mergers and acquisitions that have produced a handful of multi-billion-dollar media conglomerates. The largest of these conglomerates are rapidly growing even bigger by consuming their competition, almost tripling in size during the 1990s. Whenever you watch television, whether from a local broadcasting station or via cable or a satellite dish; whenever you see a feature film in a theater or at home; whenever you listen to the radio or to recorded music; whenever you read a newspaper, book, or magazine - it is very likely that the information or entertainment you receive was produced and/or distributed by one of these megamedia companies: The largest media conglomerate today is Time Warner, which reached its current form when America Online bought Time Warner for $160 billion in 2000. The merger brought together Steve Case, a Gentile, as chairman of AOL-Time Warner, and Gerald Levin, a Jew, as the CEO. Warner, founded by the Jewish Warner brothers in the early part of the last century, rapidly became part of the Jewish power base in Hollywood. The third most powerful man at AOL-Time Warner, at least on paper, was Vice Chairman Ted Turner, a White Gentile. Steve Case resigned effective in May 2003. The board replaced both Levin and Case with a Black, Richard Parsons. AOL is the largest Internet service provider in the world, with 34 million U.S. subscribers. In addition to cable and music, Time Warner is heavily involved in the production of feature films (Warner Brothers Studio, Castle Rock Entertainment, and New Line Cinema). Time Warner's publishing division is managed by its editor-in-chief, Norman Pearlstine, a Jew. He controls 50 magazines including Time, Life, Sports Illustrated, and People. Book publishing ventures include Time-Life Books, Book-of-the-Month Club, Little Brown, and many others. The second-largest media conglomerate is the Walt Disney Company. Its leading personality and CEO, Michael Eisner, is a Jew. The Disney empire, headed by a man described by one media analyst as a "control freak," includes several television production companies and cable networks with more than 100 million subscribers altogether. As for feature films, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group includes Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, and Caravan Pictures. Disney also owns Miramax Films, run by the Jewish Weinstein brothers, Bob and Harvey. The company under Eisner has expanded into the production of a great deal of so-called "adult" material. In August 1995, Eisner acquired Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., which owns the ABC television network, which in turn owns ten TV stations outright in such big markets as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston. In addition, in the United States ABC has 225 affiliated TV stations, over 2,900 affiliated radio stations and produces over 7,200 radio programs. ABC owns 54 radio stations and operates 57 radio stations, many in major cities such as New York, Washington, and Los Angeles. Radio Disney, part of ABC Radio Networks, provides programming targeting children. This corporation also controls the Disney Channel, Toon Disney, A&E, Lifetime Television, SOAPnet and the History Channel, with between 86 and 88 million subscribers each. The ABC Family television network has 84 million subscribers and, in addition to broadcasting entertainment is also the network outlet for Christian Zionist TV evangelist Pat Robertson. Although primarily a telecommunications company, ABC/Disney earns over $1 billion in publishing, owning Walt Disney Company Book Publishing, Hyperion Books, and Miramax Books. It also owns six daily newspapers and publishes over 20 magazines. Disney Publishing Worldwide publishes books and magazines in 55 languages in 74 countries, reaching more than 100 million readers each month. On the Internet, Disney runs Buena Vista Internet Group, ABC Internet Group, ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, Oscar.com, Mr. Showbiz, Disney Online, Disney's Daily Blast, Disney.com, Family.com, ESPN Internet Group, ESPN.sportzone.com, Soccernet.com, NFL.com, NBA.com, Infoseek (partial ownership), and Disney Interactive. Number three on the list is Viacom, Inc., headed by Sumner Redstone (born Murray Rothstein), a Jew. Melvin A. Karmazin, another Jew, was number two at Viacom until June 2004, holding the positions of president and chief operating officer. Karmazin remains a large Viacom shareholder. Replacing Karmazin as co-presidents and co-COOs are a Jew, Leslie Moonves, and Tom Freston. Viacom produces and distributes TV programs for the three largest networks, owns 39 television stations outright with another 200 affiliates in its wholly-owned CBS Television Network, owns 185 radio stations in its Infinity radio group, and has over 1,500 affiliated stations through its CBS Radio Network. It produces feature films through Paramount Pictures. Redstone acquired CBS following the December 1999 stockholders' votes at CBS and Viacom. Viacom also owns the Country Music Television and The Nashville Network cable channels and is the largest outdoor advertising (billboards, etc.) entity in the U.S. Viacom's publishing division includes Simon & Schuster, Scribner, The Free Press, Fireside, and Archway Paperbacks. It distributes videos through its over 8,000 Blockbuster stores. It is also involved in satellite broadcasting, theme parks, and video games. Viacom's chief claim to fame, however, is as the world's largest provider of cable programming through its Showtime, MTV, Nickelodeon, Black Entertainment Television, and other networks. Since 1989 MTV and Nickelodeon have acquired larger and larger shares of the juvenile television audience. MTV dominates the television market for viewers between the ages of 12 and 24. Another Jewish media mogul is Edgar Bronfman, Jr. He headed Seagram Company, Ltd., the liquor giant, until its recent merger with Vivendi. His father, Edgar Bronfman, Sr., is president of the World Jewish Congress. Seagram owned Universal Studios and later purchased Interscope Records, the foremost promoter of "gangsta rap," from Warner. Universal and Interscope now belong to Vivendi Universal, which merged with NBC in May 2004, with the parent company now called NBC Universal. Bronfman became the biggest man in the record business in May 1998 when he also acquired control of PolyGram, the European record giant, by paying $10.6 billion to the Dutch electronics manufacturer Philips. In June 2000, the Bronfman family traded Seagram to Vivendi for stock in Vivendi, and Edgar, Jr. became vice chairman of Vivendi. Vivendi was originally a French utilities company, and was then led by Gentile Jean-Marie Messier. A board of directors faction led by Bronfman forced Messier to resign in July 2002. After the Vivendi-NBC merger, Bronfman used his considerable personal profits to strike out on his own, and recently purchased Warner Music from Time Warner. The current chairman of NBC Universal is a Gentile often associated with Jewish causes, long-time NBC employee Bob Wright. Ron Meyer, a Jew, is president and chief operating officer of Universal Studios. Stacey Snider, also Jewish, is the chairman of Universal Pictures. The president of NBC Universal Television Group is Jeff Zucker, another Jew. With two of the top four media conglomerates in the hands of Jews (Disney and Viacom), with Jewish executives running the media operations of NBC Universal, and with Jews filling a large proportion of the executive jobs at Time Warner, it is unlikely that such an overwhelming degree of control came about without a deliberate, concerted effort on the Jews' part. Other media companies: Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation owns Fox Television Network, Fox News, the FX Channel, 20th Century Fox Films, Fox 2000, and publisher Harper Collins. News Corp. is the fifth largest megamedia corporation in the nation. Its Fox News Channel has been a key outlet pushing the Jewish neoconservative agenda that lies behind the Iraq War and which animates both the administration of George W. Bush and the "new conservatism" that embraces aggressive Zionism and multiracialism. Murdoch is nominally a Gentile, but he has vigorously supported Zionism and other Jewish causes throughout his life. Murdoch's number two executive is Peter Chernin, a Jew who is president and chief operating officer. Under Chernin, Jews hold key positions in the company: Gail Berman runs Fox Entertainment Group; Mitchell Stern heads satellite television division DirecTV; Jane Friedman is chairman and CEO of Harper Collins; and Thomas Rothman is chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment. News Corporation also owns the New York Post and TV Guide, and both are published under Chernin's supervision. The primary printed neoconservative journal, The Weekly Standard, is also published by News Corporation and edited by William Kristol, a leading Jewish neocon spokesman. Most of the television and movie production companies that are not owned by the large media corporations are also controlled by Jews. For example, Spyglass, a film producer which has made such films as The Sixth Sense, The Insider, and Shanghai Noon, is controlled by its Jewish founders Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, who are co-chairmen. Jonathan Glickman serves as president and Paul Neinstein is executive vice president. Both men are Jews. The best known of the smaller media companies, DreamWorks SKG, is a strictly kosher affair. DreamWorks was formed in 1994 amid great media hype by recording industry mogul David Geffen, former Disney Pictures chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, and film director Steven Spielberg, all three of whom are Jews. The company produces movies, animated films, television programs, and recorded music. One major studio, Columbia Pictures, is owned by the Japanese multinational firm Sony. Nevertheless, the studio's chairman is Jewess Amy Pascal, and its output fully reflects the Jewish social agenda. Sony's music division recently merged with European music giant BMG to form Sony BMG Music Entertainment, now one of the world's largest music distributors. It is headed by CEO Andrew Lack, a Jew. Sony's overall American operations are headed by a Jew named Howard Stringer. It is well known that Jews have controlled most of the production and distribution of films since shortly after the inception of the movie industry in the early decades of the 20th century. Films produced by Disney, Warner Brothers, Paramount (Viacom), Universal (NBC Universal), 20th Century Fox (News Corp.), DreamWorks, and Columbia (Sony) accounted for 94% of total box-office receipts for the year 2003. The big three in television network broadcasting used to be ABC, CBS, and NBC. With the consolidation of the media empires, these three are no longer independent entities. While they were independent, however, each was controlled by a Jew since its inception: ABC by Leonard Goldenson; NBC first by David Sarnoff and then by his son Robert; and CBS first by William Paley and then by Laurence Tisch. Over several decades these networks were staffed from top to bottom with Jews, and the essential Jewishness of network television did not change when the networks were absorbed by other Jewish-dominated media corporations. The Jewish presence in television news remains particularly strong. NBC provides a good example of this. The president of NBC News is Neal Shapiro. Jeff Zucker is NBC Universal Television Group president. Reporting directly to Zucker is his close friend Jonathan Wald, formerly an NBC program producer, now a senior consultant for CNBC. David M. Zaslav is president of NBC Cable (and also a director of digital video firm TiVo Inc.). The president of MSNBC is Rick Kaplan. All of these men are Jews. A similar preponderance of Jews exists in the news divisions of the other networks. Sumner Redstone, Tom Freston, and Les Moonves control Viacom's CBS. After television news, daily newspapers are the most influential information medium in America. About 58 million of them are sold (and presumably read) each day. These millions are divided among some 1,456 different publications. One might conclude that the sheer number of different newspapers across America would provide a safeguard against minority control and distortion. Alas, such is not the case. There is less independence, less competition, and much less representation of majority interests than a casual observer would think. In 1945, four out of five American newspapers were independently owned and published by local people with close ties to their communities. Those days, however, are gone. Most of the independent newspapers were bought out or driven out of business by the mid-1970s. Today most "local" newspapers are owned by a rather small number of large companies controlled by executives who live and work hundreds or even thousands of miles away. Today less than 20 percent of the country's 1,456 papers are independently owned; the rest belong to multi-newspaper chains. Only 103 of the total number have circulations of more than 100,000. Only a handful are large enough to maintain independent reporting staffs outside their own communities; the rest must depend on these few for all of their national and international news. The Associated Press (AP), which sells content to newspapers, is currently under the control of its Jewish vice president and managing editor, Michael Silverman, who directs the day-to-day news reporting and supervises the editorial departments. Silverman had directed the AP's national news as assistant managing editor, beginning in 1989. Jewess Ann Levin is AP's national news editor. Silverman and Levin are under Jonathan Wolman, also a Jew, who was promoted to senior vice president of AP in November 2002. In only two per cent of the cities in America is there more than one daily newspaper, and competition is frequently nominal even among them, as between morning and afternoon editions under the same ownership or under joint operating agreements. Much of the competition has disappeared through the monopolistic tactics of the Jewish Newhouse family's holding company, Advance Publications. Advance publications buys one of two competing newspapers, and then starts an advertising war by slashing advertising rates, which drives both papers to the edge of bankruptcy. Advance Publications then steps in and buys the competing newspaper. Often both papers continue: one as a morning paper and the other as an evening paper. Eventually, though, one of the papers is closed - giving the Newhouse brothers the only daily newspaper in that city. The Newhouse media empire provides an example of more than the lack of real competition among America's daily newspapers. The Newhouses own 31 daily newspapers, including several large and important ones, such as the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Newark Star-Ledger, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune; Newhouse Broadcasting, consisting of television stations and cable operations; the Sunday supplement Parade, with a circulation of more than 35 million copies per week; some two dozen major magazines, including The New Yorker, Vogue, Wired, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Bride's, Gentlemen's Quarterly, Self, House & Garden, and all the other magazines of the wholly-owned Conde Nast group. The staffing of the magazines is, as you might expect, quite Kosher. Parade can serve as an example: Its publisher is Randy Siegel, its editor and senior vice president is Lee Kravitz, its creative director is Ira Yoffe, its science editor is David H. Levy, and its health editor is Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld. This Jewish media empire was founded by the late Samuel Newhouse, an immigrant from Russia. When he died in 1979 at the age of 84, he bequeathed media holdings worth an estimated $1.3 billion to his two sons, Samuel and Donald. With a number of further acquisitions, the net worth of Advance Publications has grown to more than $9 billion today. The gobbling up of so many newspapers by the Newhouse family was facilitated by newspapers' revenue structure. Newspapers, to a large degree, are not supported by their subscribers but by their advertisers. It is advertising revenue - not the small change collected from a newspaper's readers - that largely pays the editor's salary and yields the owner's profit. Whenever the large advertisers in a city choose to favor one newspaper over another with their business, the favored newspaper will flourish while its competitor dies. Since the beginning of the last century, when Jewish mercantile power in America became a dominant economic force, there has been a steady rise in the number of American newspapers in Jewish hands, accompanied by a steady decline in the number of competing Gentile newspapers - to some extent a result of selective advertising policies by Jewish merchants. Furthermore, even those newspapers still under Gentile ownership and management are so thoroughly dependent upon Jewish advertising revenue that their editorial and news reporting policies are largely constrained by Jewish likes and dislikes. It holds true in the newspaper business as elsewhere that he who pays the piper calls the tune. The suppression of competition and the establishment of local monopolies on the dissemination of news and opinion have characterized the rise of Jewish control over America's newspapers. The resulting ability of the Jews to use the press as an unopposed instrument of Jewish policy could hardly be better illustrated than by the examples of the nation's three most prestigious and influential newspapers: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. These three, dominating America's financial and political capitals, are the newspapers that set the trends and the guidelines for nearly all the others. They are the ones that decide what is news and what isn't at the national and international levels. They originate the news; the others merely copy it. And all three newspapers are in Jewish hands. The New York Times is the unofficial social, fashion, entertainment, political, and cultural guide of the nation. It tells America's "smart set" which books to buy and which films to see; which opinions are in style at the moment; which politicians, educators, spiritual leaders, artists, and businessmen are the real comers. The New York Times was founded in 1851 by two Gentiles, Henry J. Raymond and George Jones. After their deaths, it was purchased in 1896 from Jones's estate by a wealthy Jewish publisher, Adolph Ochs. His great-great-grandson, Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., is the paper's current publisher and the chairman of the New York Times Co. Russell T. Lewis, also a Jew, is president and chief executive officer of The New York Times Company. Michael Golden, another Jew, is vice chairman. Martin Nisenholtz, a Jew, runs their massive Internet operations. The Sulzberger family also owns, through the New York Times Co., 33 other newspapers, including the Boston Globe, eight TV and two radio broadcasting stations; and more than 40 news-oriented Web operations. It also publishes the International Herald Tribune, the most widely distributed English-language daily in the world. The New York Times News Service transmits news stories, features, and photographs from the New York Times by wire to 506 other newspapers, news agencies, and magazines. Of similar national importance is the Washington Post, which, by establishing its "leaks" throughout government agencies in Washington, has an inside track on news involving the Federal government. The Washington Post, like the New York Times, had a non-Jewish origin. It was established in 1877 by Stilson Hutchins, purchased from him in 1905 by John R. McLean, and later inherited by Edward B. McLean. In June 1933, however, at the height of the Great Depression, the newspaper was forced into bankruptcy. It was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Eugene Meyer, a Jewish financier and former partner of the infamous Bernard Baruch, a Jew who was industry czar in America during the First World War. The Washington Post was run by Katherine Meyer Graham, Eugene Meyer's daughter, until her death in 2001. She was the principal stockholder and board chairman of the Washington Post Company; and she appointed her son, Donald Graham, publisher of the paper in 1979. Donald became Washington Post Company CEO in 1991 and its board chairman in 1993, and the chain of Jewish control at the Post remains unbroken. The Washington Post Company has a number of other media holdings in newspapers (the Gazette Newspapers, including 11 military publications); in television (WDIV in Detroit, KPRC in Houston, WPLG in Miami, WKMG in Orlando, KSAT in San Antonio, WJXT in Jacksonville); and in magazines, most notably the nation's number-two weekly newsmagazine, Newsweek. The Washington Post Company's various television ventures reach a total of about 12 million homes, and its cable TV service, Cable One, has 750,000 subscribers. The Wall Street Journal sells 1,820,000 copies each weekday and is owned by Dow Jones & Company, Inc., a New York corporation that also publishes 33 other newspapers and the weekly financial tabloid Barron's. The chairman and CEO of Dow Jones is Peter R. Kann, who is a Jew. Kann also holds the posts of chairman and publisher of the Wall Street Journal. Most of New York's other major newspapers are in the same hands as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. In January 1993 the New York Daily News (circulation 729,000) was bought from the estate of the late Jewish media mogul Robert Maxwell (born Ludvik Hoch) by Jewish real-estate developer Mortimer B. Zuckerman. Another Jew, Les Goodstein, is the president and chief operating officer of the New York Daily News. And, as mentioned above, the neocon-slanted New York Post (circulation 652,000) is owned by News Corporation under the supervision of Jew Peter Chernin. The story is much the same for other media as it is for television, radio, films, music, and newspapers. Consider, for example, newsmagazines. There are only three of any importance published in the United States: Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report. Time, with a weekly circulation of 4.1 million, is published by a subsidiary of Time Warner Communications, the news media conglomerate formed by the 1989 merger of Time, Inc., with Warner Communications. The editor-in-chief of Time Warner Communication is Norman Pearlstine, a Jew. Newsweek, as mentioned above, is published by the Washington Post Company, under the Jew Donald Graham. Its weekly circulation is 3.2 million. U.S. News & World Report, with a weekly circulation of 2.0 million, is owned and published by the aforementioned Mortimer B. Zuckerman, who also has taken the position of editor-in-chief of the magazine for himself. Zuckerman also owns New York's tabloid newspaper, the Daily News, which is the sixth-largest paper in the nation.
Jewish media control determines the foreign policy of the United States and permits Jewish interests rather than American interests to decide questions of war and peace. Without Jewish media control, there would have been no Persian Gulf war, for

Ursula Haverbeck-Wetzel Das Landgericht Dortmund hat die Vlothoerin Ursula Haverbeck-Wetzel wegen des Vorwurfs der Volksverhetzung zu einer Geldstrafe von 200 Tagessätzen verurteilt. Während des Verfahrens ist es zu Unruhen gekommen, zwei Personen sind des Saales verwiesen worden. Bereits am ersten Verhandlungstag soll es nach Informationen von Prozessbeobachtern zu demonstrativem Beifall für Haverbeck-Wetzel gekommen sein. Anlass für den Prozess war erneut der öffentlich geäußerte Gedanke, dass es den Holocaust nicht gegeben habe. Herangezogen hat der Staatsanwalt einen Artikel der von Haverbeck-Wetzel herausgegebenen Zeitschrift "Stimme des Gewissens", in dem es speziell um den Menschen Adolf Hitler geht. Hitler sei danach "eben nicht vom geglaubten Holocaust oder seiner angeblichen Kriegsbesessenheit zu verstehen", sondern, so heißt es in dem Text, "nur von einem göttlichen Auftrag im weltgeschichtlichen Rahmen". 2005 waren Exemplare des Heftes bei einer Hausdurchsuchung beschlagnahmt worden. Der Staatsanwalt hat Haverbeck-Wetzel als "Überzeugungstäterin" bezeichnet und dargelegt, dass sie Hitler als "Bewahrer der Volksgemeinschaft" für den "Kampf gegen das Judentum" propagiert habe. Das Gericht verurteilte Haverbeck-Wetzel zu 200 Tagessätzen und damit zu einer Geldstrafe von insgesamt 6000 Euro. Laut Kammer käme aufgrund des hohen Alters der Angeklagten - Ursula Haverbeck-Wetzel ist Jahrgang 1928 - nur eine Geldstrafe in Frage. Noch in diesem Monat ist ein "Sommerfest" im Vlothoer Collegium Humanum geplant.

AIPAC 2007 Conference in Washington At the 2007 three-day annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in Washington, about everyone in attendance shared two main preoccupations: the 2008 U.S. presidential election and confronting Iran. This year's conference saw record attendance: more than 6,000 people, coming from every state in the USA and exceeding last year's crowd of around 5,000. Many of them were American Jews, but the evangelical Christian community also made a strong showing. AIPAC, the most important organization affecting America's relationship with Israel, has been highly successful in building strong relationships with both U.S. political parties. This year's conference was attended by everyone from Vice President Dick Cheney to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as former CIA director James Woolsey. Leaders from Congress were there, as were numerous officials from the State Department and White House. Delegates attended "lobbying labs," where AIPAC staff schooled them on how to effectively persuade their congressional representatives to follow AIPAC policies. AIPAC deployed its lobbyists to push for new sanctions against Iran, which are contained in a new bill called the Iran Counter-Proliferation Act, introduced by Democrat Tom Lantos and Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the ranking members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. When the thousands of lobbyists descended on Capitol Hill, they were greeted by nearly every U.S. senator and more than half the members of the House of Representatives -- approximately 500 meetings were held between AIPAC representatives and members of Congress on Tuesday alone. In addition to pushing for the sanctions plan, the goal was to establish more ties for future communication and lobbying. The AIPAC activists were aided in their mission by some members of Congress themselves, who advised them how to reach out to their colleagues. "Our commitment to Israel defines us as a nation," said Republican Norm Coleman of Minnesota, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, adding that the AIPAC lobbyists "help make sure that we don't forget." Nita Lowey, a Democratic representative from New York, said the best strategy toward that goal was to keep pointing out to lawmakers that the relationship with Israel "is in the U.S. interest." AIPAC leaders stressed that one thing on which the parties can come together is unswerving devotion to Israel. Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Republican Minority Leader John Boehner each addressed the delegates, assuring them of a staunch commitment to Israel's security. The closing gala dinner was attended by a who's who of Washington's VIP-list, including the bulk of Congress, as well as high-ranking officials from the White House, the State Department and the National Security Council. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert -- addressing the crowd via teleconference from Jerusalem -- waded into America's debate over Iraq in a manner that the Israeli leadership has avoided until now. He openly urged AIPAC delegates to push Congress to support the Bush administration's current strategy in Iraq. Much focus was on who will next sit in the Oval Office. Before and after the dinner, the presidential candidates and their colleagues from Congress schmoozed with the AIPAC delegates. Following the dinner, Clinton and Obama held competing dessert receptions in the conference center both eager to highlight their pro-Israel credentials. In their effort to maintain their image of bipartisanship, AIPAC's leadership is remaining firmly on the sidelines in looking ahead to the 2008 elections. On the surface, at least, they are maintaining the position that all the candidates will be equally good for Israel. Particularly striking, though, was the predominant attitude at the conference about the administration still in office. During the opening night's events, large video screens behind the speaker's podium showed a chronological slide show of U.S. presidents and their Israeli prime minister contemporaries, and when the display eventually reached George W. Englische Marinesoldaten auf Heimflug Teheran (IRIB) - Die 15 englischen Marinesoldaten, die wegen illegalen Eindringens in iranisches Hoheitsgebiet am 23. März festgenommen worden waren, haben am heutigen Donnerstag ihre Heimreise angetreten. Sie flogen am Morgen mit einer Linienmaschine der British Airways von Teheran aus in Richtung London, wo sie am Mittag erwartet werden. Der iranische Präsident Mahmud Ahmadinedschad kündigte am Mittwochabend während einer Pressekonferenz die Freilassung der 15 Marinesoldaten anlässlich dem Jahrestag der Geburt des geehrten Propheten des Islam und des bevorstehenden christlichen Osterfestes an und bezeichnete diese Geste als ein Geschenk an das englische Volk. Die 15 englischen Marinesoldaten wurden vom iranischen Vizeaußenminister für Westeuropa Madschid Ghahremani und dem englischen Botschafter in Teheran Geoffry Adams verabschiedet. Die Soldaten dankten Präsident Ahmadinedschad öffentlich für ihre Freilassung. Leutnant Felix Carman sagte in einem Interview: "Ich kann verstehen, warum Sie das Eindringen in ihre Gewässer beleidigt hat." Faye Turney, die einzige Frau der Gruppe, sagte, sie seien gut behandelt worden. Sie freue sich aber auch darauf, nach Hause zurückzukehren und ihre Familie wieder zusehen. Poles Liberate Auschwitz from Soviet Exhibition A new stumbling block has surfaced in Russian-Polish relations. The Russian exhibition at the museum at Auschwitz concentration camp in that country has been closed, and the museum's management will not reopen it until the occupation of Polish territory by the USSR is acknowledged. This move has been interpreted as a political action in Russia. The National Exhibition of the USSR at Auschwitz was opened in 1961 and has been modernized several times since then, the last time being in January 2005, for the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the camp, when it was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin. About 1.1 million people lost their lives at the camp. It had 7000 inhabitants when it was liberated by the forces from the 1st Ukrainian Front on January 27, 1945. The Seim of the People's Republic of Poland declared the three-camp complex a Monument to the Martyrdom of the Polish and Other Peoples in 1947. It was included on the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1979 and receives over half a million tourists a year. Krystyna Oleksy, deputy director of the museum, told Kommersant that the Russian exhibition was closed because “its modernization was not completed by the Russian side.” However, Malgorzata Szniak, cultural attache at the Polish embassy in Moscow, citing the Polish Ministry of Culture, said that the administration of the museum objected to the new exhibition prepared by Russian specialists without the administration's agreement. “It contains contradictions with other national exhibitions at Auschwitz,” she explained, adding that the ministry was not taking sides in the dispute and the initiative came from the museum. “I do not think it is political,” she commented. Piotr Setkiewicz, director of the museum's archive, told Kommersant that, besides minor questions of spelling and an alleged inaccuracy in numbers of victims, the director of the museum holds that all natives of “occupied territories,” that is, Western Ukraine and the part of Belarus that were transferred to the USSR under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of 1939, should be depicted as citizens of Poland. Museum spokesmen said that a letter explaining those objections had been sent to the Russian Ministry of Culture, but no reply to it had been received. The reaction in Russia has been sharp. “We sought a reasonable compromise when we worked on that exhibition and tried not to sin against history,” chairman of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography Mikhail Shvydkoi told Kommersant. “I didn't receive any letter from Auschwitz.” Mikhail Margelov, chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs promised to raise the issue at the April PACE session. Die NS-Aktion Brandt und das Massengrab: Spurensuche auf Friedhof Menden-Barge Auf dem Friedhof von Barge waren etliche unbekannte Tote verscharrt worden, in den letzten Kriegsmonaten, so wissen einige der Alten. Und im nahen Dorf Wimbern gab es ein merkwürdiges Baracken-Krankenhaus, erst 1944 von den Nazis eingerichtet. Aber so richtig genau wollte bis vor kurzem niemand wissen, was es damit auf sich hatte. Bis Oktober 2006 sind in Massengräbern auf dem kleinen Friedhof von Menden-Barge 75 Tote entdeckt worden. 25 davon Kinder, viele von ihnen behindert. Es gibt kaum noch Zweifel, dass die Toten 1944/45 aus dem "Ausweich-Krankenhaus" Wimbern heran gebracht worden sind. Oberstaatsanwalt Ulrich Maaß von der Schwerpunkt-Staatsanwaltschaft für NS-Verbrechen in Dortmund hofft, bald ein "Gesamtbild" zu haben: Sind zwischen Mitte 1944 und April 1945 in Wimbern "tatsächlich auch Leute getötet worden", durch Giftspritzen etwa? Maaß hofft auf die Hilfe US-amerikanischer Ermittler. Denn es ist bekannt, dass US-Soldaten am 15. Mai 1945 in dem "Ausweich-Krankenhaus" fotografiert und sogar einen Film gedreht hatten. Es ist wie so oft, wenn das Gespräch auf das Tun der Nazis kommt. Was auf dem Friedhof von Barge geschah, "war kein Dorfgespräch", sagen die einen. "Es war doch Kriegsende, da kriegte man das nicht mehr mit." Nein, "ich habe von diesen Vorfällen nichts mitbekommen." - "Es war bekannt, dass da schon was war", erinnern sich die anderen. Mit Pferdekarren seien Tote in den letzten Kriegstagen auf den Friedhof gekarrt worden. "Es ist immer wieder erwähnt worden." Aber "keiner wollte sich die Finger verbrennen." Hans-Berd Besa von Werden hörte 2003 erstmals von den Gerüchten, auf dem Friedhof von Barge seien in der NS-Zeit Menschen verscharrt worden. Drei Jahre brauchte der Mann, der in der Bezirksregierung für Kriegsgräber zuständig ist, anschließend, bis ein Bagger auf den Friedhof rollen konnte. Besa von Werden versuchte zunächst, mit Zeitzeugen zu sprechen. Er suchte in Archiven, besorgte Geld für eine Grabung, das er sich "über mehrere Jahre zusammen sparen" musste. Und warum diese Hartnäckigkeit? Der Beamte findet, "als staatliche Behörde muss man solch ein Gerücht aufklären". Zu denen, die etwas gesehen haben, gehört Heinz Oesterberg. Damals war er ein Junge, war Messdiener. Da wurden Gräben ausgehoben auf dem Friedhof, erzählt er. Und gleich mehrere billige Särge wurden in ein Loch geworfen. Einmal sah er, wie Leichenteile von einem Wagen gekippt wurden. Wild durcheinander sind die Toten verscharrt worden. Man mutmaßte, dass sie aus Wimbern kamen. Erst 1944 war im nahen Wickede-Wimbern ein Krankenhaus aus Holzbaracken eröffnet worden. Ein Teil des Personals waren NS-Getreue: "Braune Schwestern", von denen drei auch nach dem Krieg noch in dem Baracken-Krankenhaus gearbeitet haben sollen. Einen Arzt haben die Amerikaner angeblich wegen Zwangs-Sterilisationen und mehrerer Morde hingerichtet. Zehntausende Behinderte sind bis 1945 ermordet worden. Diese "Beendigung unwerten Lebens", wie die Nazis das nannten, erreichte ihren Höhepunkt ab 1942 mit der "Aktion Brandt", benannt nach Hitlers Leibarzt Dr. Karl Brandt. Dem Massenmord diente "ein sehr weitreichendes System von so genannten Ausweich-Krankenhäusern", so Prof. Bernd Walter vom Institut für Regionalgeschichte in Münster. Und das Baracken-Krankenhaus von Wimbern war eines davon. Bei den Ermittlungen sind außerdem alte Luftbildaufnahmen hilfreich. Bilder aus den Jahren 1944 und 1945 zeigen Veränderungen des Bodens südlich des Friedhofsgeländes. "Da kann ein Landwirt einen Vorrat angelegt haben, das können aber auch Grabflächen sein", erklärt ein Beamter des Landeskriminalamts. Die Fläche ist mit neuen Luftbildern abgeglichen worden, um mit einem Bagger Probegrabungen durchzuführen. Die Grabungen sollen nur einen Tag dauern, sehr zur Freude der Anwohner. Denn schon die Ankündigung der Staatsanwaltschaft hatte wieder für Aufregung in dem kleinen Dorf gesorgt. Doch richtig ruhig wird es frühestens im März, wenn die Staatsanwaltschaft die Ermittlungsergebnisse präsentiert. Dann sollen auch die gerichtsmedizinischen Untersuchungen abgeschlossen sein. Am

wird gezielt gearbeitet. Mindestens drei Tote müssen noch unter dem Weg
begraben liegen. Dies haben Staatsanwaltschaft und Polizei in den drei
Monaten seit der ersten Grabung herausgefunden.
Die Gebeine der Toten wurden nach städtischen Angaben am Samstag
(17.03.07) bei einem nicht öffentlichen Begräbnis beigesetzt. Dass die
Toten nach Zeugenaussagen immer während der Nacht begraben wurden, oft
zwei Kinder in einem Sarg, schreibt Maaß den Umständen der letzten
Kriegsjahre zu: "Aus der Luft wurde man bereits von den Alliierten
kontrolliert. Daher hat man wohl versucht, möglichst immer mehrere Tote
gleichzeitig bei Dunkelheit zum Friedhof zu transportieren." Am Freitag
(23.03.07) will das Landeskriminalamt in Düsseldorf offiziell bekannt
geben, dass der Verdacht auf eine systematische Tötung ausgeräumt
sei.

Iran detains British sailors Iran said it seized a group of British sailors on Friday after they illegally entered its waters. "British charge d'affaires Kate Smith was summoned to the foreign ministry to receive a firm protest from Iran against the illegal entry of British sailors into Iranian territorial waters," said a statement from Ibrahim Rahimpour, director general for Western European affairs. "This makes a number of times that British sailors have illegally entered Iranian territorial waters at Arvand Roud. They were arrested by border guards for investigation and questioning," the statement added. Arvand Roud is the Iranian name for the Shatt al-Arab waterway that separates Iran from Iraq. Rahimpour demanded an "immediate explanation from London over the violation of its territorial waters and insisted that this not happen again," his statement said. Although this was not the first time British sailors have been seized by Iran in the waterway between Iraq and Iran, it comes amid a fraught diplomatic climate as the West seeks to press Tehran to curb its nuclear programme. A senior Navy commander said he hoped the capture was a "misunderstanding," while admitting that the area where they were detained was disputed. "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they were in Iraqi territorial waters. Equally, the Iranians may well claim that they were in Iranian territorial waters," Commodore Nick Lambert, commander of a coalition taskforce operating in the area, told the BBC.

Fast eine Dreiviertelmillion Iraker getötet Am vierten Jahrestag der Invasion des Irak durch die USA hielt Präsident Bush eine fünfminütige Rede. Darin ersuchte er das amerikanische Volk um mehr Zeit, damit die jüngsten Eskalation des Krieges den Widerstand der Iraker gegen die US-Besatzung brechen könne. Er äußerte die Behauptung, das gegenwärtige, von den USA gestützte irakische Regime arbeite "am Aufbau einer freien Gesellschaft, die sich an rechtsstaatliche Grundsätze hält, die Rechte ihrer Bürger respektiert und ihnen Sicherheit gibt..." Bush erklärte, die "Konsequenzen für die Sicherheit Amerikas wären verheerend", sollten die US-Truppen aus dem Irak abgezogen werden. Er fuhr fort: "Die Terroristen hätten als Folge des Chaos fortan im Irak ein sicheres Rückzugsgebiet - als Ersatz für Afghanistan, von wo aus sie die Angriffe vom 11. September 2001 planten. Im Interesse der Sicherheit des amerikanischen Volkes können wir dies nicht zulassen." Währenddessen schreiten die Planungen der Demokraten voran, mehr als 100 Milliarden Dollar an "dringlichen" Finanzmitteln zur Finanzierung des Krieges und seiner weiteren Eskalation zu bewilligen, verbunden mit der nicht bindenden Anregung, einen Zeitplan für den Abzug einiger - wenn auch keinesfalls aller - US-Truppen aus dem Irak zu erstellen. Im Oktober vergangenen Jahres stellte das John Hopkins Bloomberg Institut für Sozialmedizin die Ergebnisse einer minutiösen epidemiologischen Studie vor, der zufolge von März 2003 bis Juni 2006 schätzungsweise 655.000 Iraker infolge des Krieges und der Besatzung ihr Leben verloren haben. Ein Drittel der Opfer führten sie direkt auf Kampfhandlungen von US-Truppen zurück. Angesichts der Eskalation der Gewalt während der vergangenen Monate ist es wahrscheinlich, dass eine Dreiviertelmillion Iraker infolge der Eroberung und Besatzung ihres Landes den Tod gefunden haben. Geschätzte zwei Millionen Flüchtlinge haben den Irak verlassen. Hinzu kommen mindestens 1,7 Millionen Inlandsflüchtlinge, die der Krieg und die unkontrollierten ethnischen Säuberungen im ganzen Land aus ihren Heimatstädten vertrieben haben. Die Wirtschaft des Landes liegt in Trümmern, zwischen 50 und 75 Prozent der Bevölkerung sind arbeitslos. Der katholischen Caritas zufolge hungert ein Drittel der irakischen Kinder. Das öffentliche Gesundheitssystem, das früher als eines der besten in der Region angesehen wurde, ist im Wesentlichen zusammengebrochen. Die amerikanische Gesellschaft trägt Verantwortung für diese Lage - angefangen von der rechten Führungsriege, die sich zu diesem Krieg verschwor, über die Demokratische Partei, die die Regierung mit unbeschränkten Kriegsvollmachten ausstattete und ihr Hunderte Milliarden an Geldmitteln bewilligte, bis hin zu den Massenmedien. Hinter diesen politischen Institutionen stehen die mächtigsten Wirtschaftsgruppen der amerikanischen Gesellschaft: Die Banken, Konzerne und - am unmittelbarsten - die Energiekonglomerate.

Ukrainian president asks parliament to criminalize denial of Soviet-era famine President Viktor Yushchenko asked parliament Monday to criminalize the denial of the Soviet-era forced famine that killed 10 million Ukrainians. "This will be our contribution to the global cause of fighting disrespect for human life, totalitarianism and national intolerance," Yushchenko told a committee created to plan the 75th anniversary commemorations of the famine, known in Ukraine as Holodomor, or Death by Hunger. Sparked by Soviet dictator Josef Stalin and the collectivization of private farms and agricultural land, the 1932-33 famine killed almost one-third of Ukraine's population. During its height, an estimated 25,000 people died daily, devastating entire villages. Those who resisted the collectivization campaign were shot or sent to Siberian prison camps. Yushchenko's appeal is part of his effort to win full international recognition of the famine as genocide. Numerous countries, including the United States and most recently Poland, have adopted measures calling it genocide. During the Soviet era, the mass starvation was a closely guarded state secret, but information trickled out over the years. Some parties - particularly the Communists - have continued to question the statistics. Last year, Ukraine's parliament agreed to the president's request to recognize the famine as genocide, but the vote was boycotted by the Russian-leaning party of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and the Communists. Moscow had strongly opposed calling the famine a genocide, contending that the famine did not specifically target Ukrainians. Yushchenko said now parliament should pass a bill that would criminalize the denial of the famine or the Holocaust. He noted that similar laws, making it a crime to deny the Holocaust, have been adopted by other European countries.

NPD-Treff ,Trommelholz‘ ging in Rauch auf In Sachsen wurden gestern zwei Gasthäuser Opfer von Brandanschlägen. In Leipzig brannte das als NPD-Treffpunkt bekannte Gartenvereinslokal „Trommelholz“ ab. In Altenberg ging das Ausflugslokal am Galgenteich in Flammen auf. Das Vereinsheim der Gartensparte „Trommelholz“ im Stadtteil Möckern stand seit längerem unter der Beobachtung des Staatsschutzes. Grund: Parteigänger der NPD und rechtsextreme Sympathisanten sollen sich hier regelmäßig getroffen haben. Seit gestern ist von dem Gebäude, das neben dem Lokal noch eine Kegelbahn beherbergte, nur noch eine Ruine übrig. Gegen 3.45 Uhr war der Flachbau in Flammen aufgegangen und komplett niedergebrannt. Die Kripo geht von einem gezielten Anschlag aus. Ein Spürhund erschnüffelte an der Ausbruchsstelle des Feuers Reste von Brandbeschleuniger. Neben dem Brandkommissariat ermittelt jetzt auch der Staatsschutz. Feueralarm gestern auch im Osterzgebirge: Am frühen Morgen schlugen Flammen aus dem Altenberger Ausflugslokal am Galgenteich. Glück, dass die Einsatzkräfte relativ zeitnah informiert wurden. Ein Campingtourist hatte die Rauchschwaden am Gasthaus bemerkt. Nach ersten Schätzungen beschädigten die Flammen Außenverkleidung und Dachstuhl des Gebäudes, richteten etwa 20000 Euro Schaden an. Auch in diesem Fall schlug ein Polizeihund auf Brandbeschleuniger an. Ein Kripo-Ermittler: „Wir gehen von Brandstiftung aus.“

It's Israel that incites hate Blame Israel, not Palestinian textbooks, for hatred in the Holy Land, published: 3/11/2007 by "The Free Lance-Star", Fredericksburg, VA. BETHLEHEM, Palestine -- I am surprised that you find so terrible some of the quotes you record ["A steady diet of hate for kids in Palestine," Feb. 11] from Palestinian textbooks, such as "Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly." Surely something of this sort was said by Americans fighting for their independence during the Revolutionary War. Their desire to sacrifice for freedom echoes some of our first generals: "[A]ppealing to Heaven for the justice of our cause, we determine to die or be free" (Joseph Warren, American account of the Battle of Lexington, 1775). I spent three months in Palestine and Israel. I have been a witness to injustice that rarely makes it to mainstream news in the U.S. I have spent time with families whose houses have been demolished; families who are left with no means of income after their fields have been destroyed; men who have been tortured in prison and who are nevertheless seeking a nonviolent way to resist; children who have been shot while playing; children who have been beaten by soldiers; and children whose siblings are in jail simply for being members of a political party. The lives of Palestinians are devalued at the expense of Israelis. Palestinian children have little or no access to play areas, because of Israeli building restrictions and continued confiscation of land. While settlements atop hills in Palestine use water for swimming pools, gardens, and open spaces, Palestinians must pay four times as much to Israel for water. Sewage from these settlements often runs directly onto Palestinian farmland. Palestinian children in refugee camps face raids, where soldiers come in the middle of the night, break into their houses, and sometimes make an arrest or simply break things and leave. You state that Palestinians do not learn about the Holocaust. Well, Israelis are not taught in school about the history of their country beyond the Jewish perspective. It is not taught, for example, that in the 1948 war more than 400 Palestinian towns were destroyed, and thousands of Palestinians were expelled or killed. I have found that Israeli soldiers know little about why they receive orders, and Israeli civilians are ignorant of what happens in the West Bank. Please consider the following typical examples: The first week I was here, I met a Palestinian family whose 11-year-old son was shot from a watchtower while playing on his porch. I told an Israeli girl in her 20s about it. Her reply: "That couldn't have happened. It would have been on the news." Two weeks ago we received a phone call from a family whose sons, 17 and 18 years old, had been beaten and arrested by the Israeli Defense Force in the village of Budrus. I called the spokesperson for the IDF. I did not get in direct contact with the general. Instead I talked to an office worker. His response: "This doesn't have to do with us. We just talk to the media. But soldiers do not hurt innocent people. I am really sorry." Last week I asked an Israeli soldier if he knew where the Green Line (the internationally recognized border that gives Palestine 22 percent of its original territory) is--since bulldozers, 12 kilometers away from this border, removed 700-year-old olive trees, the livelihood of 200 people. His answer: "I don't know where the border is. I am just following orders." There are actually many schools in Palestine that teach about Israelis and Palestinians living peacefully together. The Hope Flowers School near Bethlehem works to bring Palestinian and Jewish Israelis together to teach about reconciliation. This school faces a court order--from Israel--that its cafeteria be demolished to make room for a security road. In addition, the school's water well will be taken. This school is even denied the right to repair the road that leads to the school. Palestinians do not need to learn hate from textbooks. They can learn it when they see what happens to their friends and families, their schools, and their land. They learn it by having dignity and rights taken away. The Web site Palestinian Media Watch teaches Americans to hate. It turns the parents and teachers of Palestine into caricatures of terrorists whom we can easily blame. Every parent and teacher I have met here is struggling to meet basic needs -- and at the same time is teaching children that education is the key to freedom. But you cannot tie a cat down and ask it to make peace. It would be much more useful if the Web site were devoted to America's role in unilaterally supporting Israel and how we can reach a solution that is just. Meinungsäußerungsfreiheit TRIBÜNE Fragwürdige Antirassismus-Norm von Robert Nef Seit dem Januar 1995 verbietet der Artikel 261bis STGB den öffentlichen Aufruf zum Rassismus und die öffentliche Leugnung von Völkermord. Es besteht kein Zweifel, dass Rassismus und Völkermord abscheuliche Übel sind, die von keinem vernünftigen Menschen gebilligt oder gar verteidigt werden. Sie gehören zu den Exzessen menschlichen Fehlverhaltens, die leider im Lauf der Menschheitsgeschichte nicht allzu selten vorgekommen sind. Ob sie sich durch eine Einschränkung der Meinungsäusserungsfreiheit (die auch die Verbreitung von Lügen und groben Irrtümern einschließt) wirksam bekämpfen lassen, ist indes zweifelhaft. Wer seinerzeit im Abstimmungskampf auf die Problematik dieser Normen hinwies, wurde sofort in den Dunstkreis der Befürworter von Rassismus und Genozid gerückt, und bis heute leidet die Diskussion an solchen perfiden Unterstellungen. Halten wir zunächst fest: Man kann ein zutiefst überzeugter Gegner von Rassismus und Völkermord sein und trotzdem für die Aufhebung der vermutlich sogar kontraproduktiven Strafnorm plädieren. Was sie an zusätzlichen Problemen schafft, steht in keinem Verhältnis zur behaupteten präventiven Wirkung. Die Antirassismus-Norm krankt daran, dass sie einen Begriff verwendet, der selbst Teil des Problems ist. Wer den Begriff «Rasse» definieren will, begibt sich nämlich selbst in den Dunstkreis wissenschaftlich überholter Rassentheorien. Auch das Delikt «öffentlicher Aufruf zur Diskriminierung» ist schwer abgrenzbar, weil man vernünftigerweise die öffentliche Äußerung von Hassgefühlen und den Appell an allfällige Mithasser gegen Personengruppen und Personen nicht nach ihren Motiven klassifizieren kann. Gehören Rapper, bei denen der öffentliche Appell an negative Emotionen Bestandteil der Kunstgattung ist, ins Gefängnis? Wo ist die Grenze zwischen geschmacklosen Witzen und dem «Aufruf zur Diskriminierung»? Früher oder später wird man einsehen müssen, welch unlösbare Auslegungsprobleme man sich mit dieser Norm eingebrockt hat. Sie schürt das Grundübel letztlich mehr, als dass sie es verhindert, weil damit auch allfällige Ventile geschlossen werden. Gleiches, ja noch Schlimmeres, lauert hinter dem Verbot der Völkermord-Leugnung. Völkermord gehört zu den Schattenseiten der Menschheitsgeschichte, und es muss nicht nur unter Historikern, sondern auch vor Völkerrechtstribunalen erlaubt sein, die Fragen nach der Tragweite und nach den Motiven in der ganzen Bandbreite öffentlich zu diskutieren. Waren die von Stalin und Mao durch Straflager und Hunger vernichteten 30 Mio. bis 40 Mio. Menschen «Angehörige einer Rasse, Ethnie oder Religion»? Was wäre von einer Klage gegen Historiker zu halten, die sagen, diese Opfer seien eben für die Überwindung des Feudalismus unumgänglich gewesen? Die heute gängige Sprachregelung, die meines Erachtens die Opfer ebenfalls beleidigt, lautet, das seien die tragischen Begleiterscheinungen einer ursprünglich humanistischen Idee namens Sozialismus bzw. Kommunismus gewesen, und keine Genozide. Wer kanonisiert die welthistorischen Genozide als die echten und trennt sie von den unechten? Das Bundesgericht? Eine amtliche Kommission für historisch zulässige bzw. unzulässige Definitionen? Eine nationale oder internationale Historikerkommission? Oder eine nationale oder kantonale Exekutive? Warum sagt niemand, man beleidige die Opfer des 11. Septembers 2001, wenn man behauptet, das World Trade Center sei von der Bush-Administration selbst gesprengt worden? Inzwischen glaubt das in Deutschland eine Mehrheit der Unter- Dreißigjährigen. Einen vernünftigen Grund, die Verbreitung solcher Meinungen unter Strafe zu stellen, gibt es meiner Meinung nach nicht. Wenn Genozid nicht verjährt, müsste man auch das Leugnen der Ausrottung der Indianer, der Ur-Australier, der Ur-Kanaaniten durch das damals eingewanderte Volk Israel unter Strafe stellen. Ich meine eher, man verletze den Prozess von Rede und Gegenrede, von Deutung und Widerlegung, von falschen und zutreffenden Aussagen, wenn man hier durch das Strafrecht Schranken aufstellt. Der Einwand, man habe bisher die Norm restriktiv ausgelegt und bewusst auf zwei besonders grausame und unbestrittene Völkermord-Fälle eingeschränkt (Armenier und Juden), macht die Strafnorm nicht weniger fragwürdig. Gerade die Tatsache, dass heute kein seriöser Historiker den Genozid an den Armeniern und den Holocaust in Frage stellt, ist doch ein Argument dafür, dass man die Meinung der paar nationalistischen Extremisten und Außenseiter, welche die Massentötung als Begleiterscheinung eines Bürgerkrieges oder eines Kriegs deuten und die Anwendung des Begriffs Völkermord auf die historischen Fakten ablehnen, nicht bestrafen sollte, sondern widerlegen. Sperrt man sie ins Gefängnis, macht man deren Vertreter zu Märtyrern der Meinungsäußerungsfreiheit, und man nährt damit den spätern Verdacht, die offiziell vorherrschende Doktrin sei eben doch nicht über alle Zweifel erhaben gewesen. Lügen muss man – auch in der Geschichte und in der Politik – nicht bestrafen, sondern widerlegen, nötigenfalls immer wieder und mit immer besseren Argumenten. Quelle: Internet St. Galler Tagblatt

Zivilcourage Bei der Eröffnung der SPD-Wanderausstellung ,,Rechtsradikalismus in Bayern‘‘ ergriff der 23-jährige Mike Nwaiser das Wort mit der Bemerkung: "Ich bin bekennender nationaler Sozialist‘‘ und legte dann seine Ansichten zum Ausstellungsthema dar. Gegen Nwaiser und seine Begleiter wurde von den Veranstaltern ein Hausverbot ausgesprochen. Begleitet von zwei Polizisten verließen Nwaiser und seine Freunde das Maximilianeum.

Deutsche Bischöfe in Palästina Am Wochenende kritisierten mehrere deutsche Bischöfe in Bethlehem die israelische Unterdrückung der Palästinenser. Der Eichstätter Bischof Gregor Maria Hanke verglich die Zustände in Bethlehem mit dem Warschauer Ghetto: „Morgens in [der Jerusalemer Holocaust- Gedenkstätte] Jad Vaschem die Fotos vom unmenschlichen Warschauer Ghetto. Abends fahren wir ins Ghetto in Ramallah. Da geht einem der Deckel hoch.“ Auch der Augsburger Bischof Walter Mixa sprach von einer „ghettoartigen Situation“. Dies grenze an „Rassismus“. Die deutsche Bischofskonferenz relativierte am Dienstag. Deren Sekretär, Pater Hans Langendörfer, rechtfertigte die Bischöfe: Beim Besuch in Bethlehem seien „aus der emotionalen Betroffenheit Einzelner heraus einige wenige sehr persönliche Bemerkungen gefallen“. Diese seien bereits selbstkritisch richtig gestellt worden. Das gelte insbesondere für eine Nebenbemerkung, die auf das Warschauer Ghetto anspielte. Bischof Hanke entschuldigte sich, er habe nur seine persönliche Betroffenheit artikuliert. „Vergleiche zwischen den Geschehnissen des Holocaust und der gegenwärtigen Situation in Palästina sind nicht annehmbar und waren auch nicht beabsichtigt.“ Bischof Mixa erklärte, dass die Mauer sowie die jüdischen Siedlungen aus der Sicht der palästinensischen Bevölkerung „eine gewisse Provokation“ darstellten. The Monnet Plan Following World War II France was in severe need of reconstruction. To rebuild, France was completely dependent on coal from Germany's main remaining coal-mining areas, the Ruhr area and the Saar area (The German coal fields in Upper Silesia had been annexed by Poland). In 1945 Monnet proposed a plan, named after him, to take control of these German areas and redirect the output of German coal production away from German industry and into French industry instead, permanently weakening Germany and raising the French Economy considerably above its pre-war levels. The plan was adopted by Charles de Gaulle in early 1946. In 1947 France removed the Saar from Germany and turned it into a protectorate under French economic control. As the head of France's General Planning Commission, Monnet was the real author of what has become known as the 1950 "Schuman Plan" to create the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), forerunner of the Common Market (EU). Architect of Jewish state a cold-blooded mass-murderer ? Ilan Pappe is an Israeli historian. He proves from official records how the Israeli state came into being with blood on its hands from lands forcibly seized from its Palestinian inhabitants who'd lived on it for hundreds of years previously. Since the 1940s, they were ethnically cleansed and slaughtered without mercy so their homeland would become one for Jews alone. Pappe documents how it all began. He designates the politicians who devised the plan and the generals who carried out the ethnic cleansing naming the guilty, the villages and urban areas destroyed, and the cruelest crimes committed against defenseless people only wanting to live in peace on their own land. Pappe describes the origins of Zionist ideology. Following Theodor Herzl's death in 1904, Zionists decided goal was to colonize Palestine because of its biblical connection that happened to be land occupied inappropriately by "strangers" meaning anyone not Jewish having "no right" to be there. Zionist leaders wanted a complete dispossession of indigenous Arabs to reestablish the ancient land of Eretz Israel as a Jewish state for Jews alone. David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first prime minister, said already in June, 1938 to the Jewish Agency Executive and never wavering from later: "I am for compulsory transfer; I do not see anything immoral in it." He played a central role planning and executing the crime.
The whole business took six months in 1948 to complete. It expelled
about 800,000 people, killed many others, and destroyed 531 villages
and 11 urban neighborhoods in cities like Tel-Aviv, Haifa and
Jerusalem. The action was a clear case of ethnic cleansing for which
Germans at Nuremberg were hanged. It included cold-blooded mass-murder;
destruction of homes, villages and crops; rapes; other atrocities; and
massacres of defenseless people given no quarter including women and
children.
That works because the US supports and funds the Jewish state allowing
it to get away with mass-murder, property destruction, land theft and
denial of everything Palestinians hold dear including their lives and
freedom. Nothing has changed since 1948. Palestinians have no
bargaining power and can do nothing to alleviate their plight. The UN
world body should have aided them but never did.

When you've taken something away from someone, you should give it back, period. Holocaust survivors from around the world pressed Poland's government today to compensate them for property confiscated by the former communist regime. Poland, the biggest post-communist European Union member, is the only country from eastern Europe, besides Belarus, which has not enacted a programme for the restitution of property seized after World War Two. Attempts to solve the issue after the collapse of communism in 1989 have failed, mostly due to concern over the likely cost. "When you've taken something away from someone, you should give it back, period," Israel Singer, President of the Claims Conference, said following meetings with Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski and Speaker of Parliament Marek Jurek. "You don't ask the person's religion, you don't ask the person's race, you don't ask the person's creed, you just give it back. The post-war communist rulers seized their property as well as that of people who left or fled the country. Poland's ruling conservatives have promised to resolve the issue and pass relevant legislation in coming months. But the government proposal envisages compensation for only 15 per cent of the property lost. Neither Kaczynski nor Jurek commented publicly after the meetings.

Der Nürnberger Trichter Wenn man bei Google oder Yahoo ein aktuelles Suchwort eingibt, erhält man meistens Hunderte von nahezu identischen Nachrichten. Dies ist nicht überraschend, denn fast alle Online-Publikationen, die von den Suchmaschinen ausgewertet werden, beziehen - wie ihre auf Papier gedruckten Pendants - die gleichen vorgefertigten Meldungen von einigen großen Nachrichten-Agenturen wie DPA oder REUTERS. Für das Fernsehen gilt Entsprechendes. Von Flensburg bis Passau ergießt sich somit über den geduldigen Nachrichten-Konsumenten immer dieselbe Einheitsbrühe. Wer nicht ausschließt oder sogar überzeugt davon ist, dass die großen Medien-Konzerne nur dasjenige in den für das breite Publikum bestimmten Nürnberger Trichter einschütten, was ihren Zwecken dient, der sollte zu seinem Vorteil zweierlei beachten. Erstens: Schalte einen starken Filter zwischen Trichter und Deinen Kopf, damit das der Brühe beigemischte Gift abgesondert wird ohne Dir zu schaden. Zweitens: Benutze Deinen Kopf zum Denken und nicht als Speicher für Einflüsterungen von Leuten, die Dich mit gleisnerischen Worten nur für dumm verkaufen wollen.

Final Approval of Insurance Settlement for Holocaust Victims in USA Under the deal, insurence company Generali would accept new claims until March 31, even though it has already paid $135 million to settle claims. So far, 3,300 people have made fresh claims, which might entitle them to payouts under an international commission's formula. Lawyers said an average of $25,000 was expected to be paid out per claim. If the sealed Nazi archives in Bad Arolsen, Germany are opened and new insurance records are discovered among records from concentration camps, the date to file claims may be extended up to August 31, 2008, according to the settlement. The settlement would end the last of the large cases brought in American courts to get money from companies responsible for aiding Nazis during the Holocaust. Those companies have been accused of enabling the cheating of Jews, forced laborers and slaves of their assets, including insurance policies, during World War II.

Fahndungserfolg der Kasseler Polizei: Mit Haftbefehl gesuchter Rechtsextremer gefasst 27.02.2007 - 14:22 Uhr Kassel (ots) - Beamte des Kasseler Fahndungskommissariats K 33 haben mit Unterstützung von Kollegen verschiedener anderer Organisationseinheiten vom PP Nordhessen am vergangenen Wochenende einen 60 jährigen Vellmarer in Frielendorf (Schwalm-Eder-Kreis) festgenommen, der in dringendem Tatverdacht steht, volksverhetzende Inhalte ins Internet gestellt zu haben. Dabei offenbarte der Mann eine extrem antijüdische Haltung und leugnete zum Beispiel den Holocaust. Nicht zuletzt wegen des andauernden Ermittlungsdrucks tauchte der 60 Jährige Anfang 2006 mit Hilfe seiner bundesweiten Kontakte ab. Im März 2006 erwirkte die Staatsanwaltschaft Kassel einen Untersuchungshaftbefehl beim zuständigen Haftrichter. Im Zuge der umfangreichen Ermittlungs- und Fahndungsmaßnahmen, die sich über Monate hinzogen und durch das ausgeprägt konspirative Verhalten des Mannes erheblich erschwert wurden, kamen die Fahnder dem Vellmarer schließlich letzte Woche auf die Spur. Der Rest war dann reine Routine: Am Samstagabend, um 18:35 Uhr, wurde der 60 Jährige in einem Gasthaus in Frielendorf von der Polizei festgenommen. Dort hatte er eine Wohnung mit der Begründung angemietet, in Ruhe ein Buch schreiben zu wollen. Seit dem Wochenende sitzt der Mann nun in der Justizvollzugsanstalt Kassel.
